First of all to answer your question.I don't know if the surgen recommended chemo for your mother and what the percentage was for cure or remission did she have the cancer removed. I stopped the chemo because mine was not that urgent,You need to find out how urgent this chemo is.good luck if you have anymore questions please ask. I can only help you from my own experiences.0October 2013

Snowcat, I am not in your position, so all I can do is suggest. When I went through radiation, my doctor told me the side effects if I did not drink a lot of water(I HATE water), I put a glass next the sink in the kitchen with a straw in it. Every time I passed the sink, I filled it up and sucked it down....14 glasses a day...no side effects. Her doctor should be the one to stress this. No matter how old you are, she still sees you as her child and will resent You 'being her boss' how DARE you! This is not real and everything you do is out of love for her. but in her eyes her independence is being taken away by the child she raised. I've been there and 'hard' just doesn't cover it. You(and she)are in my prayers, Just keep loving her. You know, at one time she changed a diaper for a screeming, squirming child. That child was you...lol. God bless!0October 2013

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
You may also find our "Beginner's Guide To Cancer" page helpful Click Here for that=> http://bit.ly/10BQKCi
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
