Hi Carol1211, Welcome to WhatNext a great website where you will meet people who are on the same cancer journey as yourself. I myself am a 13 year 9 mos pancreatic cancer survivor. I see you live in NJ...so do I. I am in Mays Landing about 12 miles outside of Atlantic City. Did you have surgery? How about radiation? I see that you don't want a port, but I also see why several people who have already posted their reasons why you should have one. I can detect how down you are on all of this, and why you are looking for some support. Well you have found I there on WhatNext. There are a lot of things that all of us don't want...including cancer, but guess what? We got it! My advice to you is to get the port even if you don't want it. Fatigue? We all know what you're talking about. I still experience fatigue after 13 years. Many of the people on this site experience fatigue all the time. I myself during 24/7 5fu chemo and radiation at the same time for 5 weeks...killed me. I was crawling on my hands and knees in the morning until I could get up enough strength to stand up and get ready to go for my next radiation treatment. I vomited every single day...regardless of what I tried, Compazine, Atavan, Kytril, and even Marinol. That's the closest thing to marijuana and still be legal. But all of that seems like so long ago, but then there are days where it seems just like yesterday. My point is we have all been there and know exactly what you are going through. Never give up hope...it is the last candle fluttering in the darkness while all the others have gone out. Those of us here at WhatNext will keep that candle of hope lit for you until you are able to take over. Hang in there!
    My best to you...Russ

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/pancreatic-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend
