    Hello and welcome to the club that choses you. As a nine-year prostate cancer survivor, diagnosed at the age of 47, I can tell you that there is hope and life after cancer. I agree with fusilier: get information. I'll go further: get lots of information. Don't leave it to one doctor to guide your plan for dealing with this. Every case is different. Every man is different. Develop a plan that fits you. There are many resources out there. One book that I found incredibly helpful was Dr. Patrick Walsh's Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer.
