I have the same type of cancer and it's spread to my lymph system. I started all this with a bone scan before a biopsy (a recent stroke had me concerned about possible blood clots causing another). The bone scan didn't show anything although my PSA was extremely high. An ultra sound confirmed the pelvic lymph nodes were affected.
I was having trouble sleeping, but getting in rigorous exercise earlier in the evening has really helped plus eating some carbs before going to bed.
Yes - I've had the side effects, too, and am fighting weight gain with the exercise. I've been told they can shrink to almost nothing. I've wondered about physical castration (told it's an out-patient procedure) vs the lupron. I'm not sure it matters...the cancer cells eventually adapt to progress without the testosterone I'm told.
I'm just going to stick with the exercise (wish a side effect would be appetite suppression but it's not - bummer! Keep fighting the good fight!
