That's terrible. I am hoping for a miracle, I guess. Just can't seem to accept that someone so young and vital could be taken from us....why? why???

Welcome. Thank you for taking the time to register. I know we have several people on the network with pancreatic cancer experience so when you are ready please do not hesitate to reach out to them. They are here for the same reasons you are.

If you need anything (e.g., emotional support, help finding support/care resources, insights as to what to expect), please be sure to ask the network for help. You can do this by clicking on the "Ask Network" link on your logged in home page or the "Questions" link at the top of this page. When you post needs/questions using our question feature, we route your question to everyone in the network who might be able to help. Also, know you can use the "Update" feature on the site to keep anyone who might be following you on WhatNext up to date.

I look forward to reading about your progress.

Hi SoCalJules! I wanted to let you know that I'm in a similar boat as you are. My dad was diagnosed with PC in October...October 26, 2011 at 2:30pm to be exact...I might not ever forget that. No option for surgery : ( He was misdiagnosed with other things for a year before they happened upon the tumor. I'm an only child...this has hit me hard! I'm my dad's caregiver as my mom has to continue to work to help pay for the medical bills. Staying hopeful and positive is key. It is hard but it is key. We are beginning to run over some bumps in the road with low counts on the labs and blood clots. I'm just now starting to feel very overwhelmed myself. I find that empowering myself is very helpful. I love to read so I'm reading as much as I can on this. I found Lisa Swayze Niemi's lastest book to be very helpful. The title is Worth Fighting For. I really hope that your sister's stent works! Good luck and stay positive! "Don't Count the days, make the days count"
