Sending prayers for you and your friend "Debra". Try to be there for her when she needs it, you can help her too her because you're a little farther along. Have Debra join What Next, there are so many wonderful people here, I wish I found this site at the beginning of my journey. I don't know much about radiation but I do know it's more accurate than ever as to how it's delivered. You should feel blessed and not guilty it was found early! I first had stage III-C colon cancer. It was removed and I had 6 rounds of chemo. About 17 months later I went for a body scan to make sure everything was OK so I could get my port removed.

The next day I received a phone call from my oncologist and was told I had a tumor on my ovary. More tests and surgery and was told I was at stage I-C. At first I didn't feel lucky or fortunate at the time. All I felt was I had cancer again...it had nothing to do with the colon cancer. I was so upset but everyone I spoke with and through my research, Hardly anyone is diagnosed at stage I Ovarian Cancer. There were two problems. My tumor broke when it was being removed and the tumor grew through one lymph node and could not tell if it could spread to others. It was decided I had to have at least 6 chemo treatments. I had some problems and they adjusted my chemo cocktail.

I am happy to say it's been almost 6 years since the colon cancer and almost 4 years since the ovarian cancer! Please be positive! You're fortunate and blessed to be here at What Next!

Welcome! How are you doing? Have you started on a plan yet for your treatment? Believe me when I tell you it helps to talk to other people on this journey. I sure wish I had done that a lot more. I didn't want to be all about my cancer, so I just didn't talk about it, even to my family, and I regret that decision immensely. There are some great ways to find information and to just talk or listen, find the one or two that fit your life and situation. Best of luck!

Hi there, What did the onc have to say? I don't think I have heard.
Glad you had a good Christmas. How about New Years? We are old fogies and to us the late news is the 6 o'clock news. But, I'll be darn if the hubby didn't stay awake for midnight. We opened a bottle of sparkling cider, toasted, had 2 sips and out we went, zzzzzz. Boy, what a couple of partiers!!
Hope you are well and staying warm.

Hi there, I am fairly new here also. Have had my surgery and 2 rounds of chemo so far. I have a long way to go but have a good husband and friends who are supporting me. I believe that I stay positive by learning all I can about my situation. With knowledge comes calm. Maybe it will work that way for you. You have found a wonderful site here. People with a lot more experience than I but all you have to do is ask and someone here will be able to help you. You will find in time what works best for you to handle this. Don't try to do everything on you own if you don't have to. Ask for help. Hope to hear from you soon with your results from the MRI.

Thanks for the "following"... I am usually onsite most days (off to an annual Cape shopping trip tomorrow with a group of ladies who were my great support system during my journey...we meet monthly for lunch and shopping at different spots throughout eastern MA).

I think that God understands the anger. He is not put off by it. I will also pray for you and hope that the next few days bring you a sound understanding and a fixed direction.

Hi, I still am sad and angry. I could not sleep last night and woke this morning a bit bewildered that I did not sleep the cancer off. It's just been a little over 24 hours now. But I am getting a plan together and have started a journal just for the treatment. I do not want to say the" word" or diagnosis out loud. I am mad at God. I need that over-sized button from Staples ,only it would be pink and it would really work, and it would say" Stop thinking about breast cancer" so I could get a break. I pray that today your heart finds some ease and you will feel like "suiting up" tomorrow. TTFN

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend
