I'm sorry that you've had such a rocky start to your husband's cancer treatment. I don't understand how a CT scan with contrast caused a perforated bowel. I'm sure that the pandemic has made this diagnosis much hard for both of you. I am a Stage IV rectal cancer survivor. I'm here to help and support you and answer questions. I hope that things are better now - I have a permanent colostomy so I can help with those questions too.

The story about having both a tumor removal as well as a colectomy is very interesting. I had cancer in the lymph nodes that was about to spread around like wildfire. They were able to remove the tumor and surrounding colon tissue. I suspect that was what happened here. If he had a noncancerous blockage sometimes that can be prevented with drinking more water.
