    Hi,
As I get closer to my post surgical appt. and discussing chemo., I have a couple more questions. I know physicans choose different drugs for each client, but I'm curious as to what the side effects were for you physically and emotionally? My last question is of course, the vanity one- did you lose your hair, and how was that/is that for you?
    Thanks so much!

Thanks, again. I had another cancer survivor reach out to me, who was stage IV and has been in remission for 5 years! -But with some long term consequences, as you talked about.
Did you have to work through this? I have another 4 weeks of recovery from the hysterectomy (which is going well and I assume I will be starting chemo shortly after that.)So since I have to go back to work ( in some capacity) I don't know how working will fit into all this. Any experience with this?

Thank you for contacting me! At this point, I am starting to have more questions, but my husband is a pharmacist, so he has been a huge help. I have had a hysterectomy and my first post-op appt. is next week and we will discussing chemo. then.
So you had stage 2 cancer and you had to have radiation and chemo?

I will be praying you have a wonderful time at your concert. I know battling cancer is life changing, then dealing with any family issues can seem overwhelming. Hope your husband is doing well. You are very strong to be at a point to continue with life! Praying God's blessing on you.

Joachima, Were you ever treated with Avastin? If so, what side effects did you have? I don't know anyone who has taken it & my imagination is galloping away with me. I've read the side effects, but they list everything! I'm looking for what people actually had.

I have thought about finding a new medical oncologist Joachima. Problem is that we live in a rural area and this decision would involve lots more traveling. This would mean that my husband would have to take even more time off from work. He is self employed. My family doesn't live close by.
I have been giving this situation alot of thought .. where there is a will, there is a way. My follow up appt's with a medical oncologist should be less frequent seeing as the colo-rectal surgeon doesn't feel I need more chemo or radiation.
Hmmmmm, Oct.18 may have been my last visit with him and his staff.
I will miss the woman who draws my blood though - she is a sweetie.
Have you heard anything on the genetic testing? How are you feeling? Do you battle with fatigue?

Hi Carol-Charlie and Joachima, I have just completed my six rounds of chemo for uterine serous papillary cancer and will be getting radiation very soon. Had my CT last week and everything is fine and will have my simulation radiation on Wednesday. Am scheduled for 25 radiation treatments with the last 3 being internal. Glad to have found you both and hope we can chit-chat a lot.

Joachima, What little hair I have is of the gray variety.....whatever happened to my dark color tresses? But I'm fine with that. Haven't worn my wigs much as I found them too hot while the weather was warm and, now that the weather is cool, I just don't find them that comfortable. Am getting pretty good at scarf tying and have a large selection of scarves. Also have this rhinestone studded black baseball style hat that I often wear and have gotten a lot of compliments.

A story that I would like to share with you two is: while waiting to use the bathroom at the infusion center after chemo #3, I was joined by this darling little girl and her mother. The little girl was holding a basket of things and when I asked her what was in her basket, her mother explained that they were gifts to help people with cancer feel better. I was offered a gift, and her mother took a picture of us. The bag of goodies was delightful and much appreciated but the best gift was the thought that this little 7 year old Kylie put into it and her accompanying letter.

I count her among the many angels who have been with me throughout this journey.

May this Thanksgiving bring you extra blessings - faith, family, friends, and good health,

    Happyjack

Hey lady- just thought you were an inspiration with the Christian music. I have only 1 CD of Casting Crowns, but I play it often! I'll have to expand my library- a LOT! Have a great day and keep going. Jennifer

I totally relate to grieving the loss of your hair. Mine started falling out shortly after the first dose of Taxol and Paraplatin. It became so messy that I had it all shaved off. It was a terribly emotional time for me but it did very slowly grow back. I wore hats and scarves whenever I had to go out in public. About a month ago I had to start using a comb. LOL, that sounds funny. My new hair is not as dark as before chemo..
Regarding side effects other than fatigue; my appetite is not great. I have lost 35 pounds during the journey and am trying to gain some of it back.
Also, the radiation caused damage to my colon. In Sept. I had a hemi-colectomy. They removed a tumor(stage 2)and 12" of my large colon. My bowel issues seem to be better now. Can't wait to hear the doctor's tell me there is no evidence of cancer. I will have a CT scan this Thursday.

    Stay safe in this storm.

I would be interested in hearing about your journey with uterine cancer. What were your symptoms? Did you have surgery? if so, when.
    What stage is your cancer?
