    Hope you mentioned that you had a hernia that the Dr. is being very vague. I have had the surgery. I highly recommend that you get a second opinion. See if you can find a laparoscopic surgeon

    Hope I can't help but notice you have regurgitation problems. I too have those problems but as I am an emotional barfer (I barf where normal people cry). However my Dr. does an endoscopy about every 2 1/2 years followed by 4 months of Omeprazole. that cuts down on the choking a lot. I find that peppermint tea helps the acid reflux a lot and ginger tea helps with the dumping effect, In fact when I know I am going to eat something bad I eat it with a cut of ginger tea.

    I am an esophageal cancer stage III survivor of 15 years. We created the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation www.fightec.org to help patients with their journey through this disease.
    We have co-authored a book called 100 Questions and Answers about Esophageal Cancer published by Jones and Bartlett and can be purchased at any book store.
    We have also published a book called Esophagectomy Post Surgical Guide Questions & Answers published by Authorhouse that can be purchased at any bookstore or on our web site www.fightec.org
