I wrote this when I entered stage 4 cancer.

    WAITING ON THE LORD

Help me my Lord, what should I do?
I’ll now let go and now let you,
Guide me oh Lord and heal my soul
from heavy heart with painful goal.
I called you boldly not in shame.
    Where were you Lord?
    when I prayed and prayed?
I prayed to you for so many a days.

Did you not see me dance* for you,
while silently singing a song or two?
My hands held high to give you praise
Come help your child, end earthly days.
I’m crying out, what more to do?
With solemn faith I’ve waited for you.

He then spoke softly in my ear
So sweet, so kind, I had no fear
“My child you are able to think and write,
I have been with you both day and night,
I will act in due time, keep your faithful stand,
It’s MY will be done for I Am That I Am.”

    dance* = Holy Ghost Dancing

I've written many poems. My mother influenced me by reading poems to me weekly when I was a child. She read from the old poets that usually rhymed instead of free verse. I knew Houseman, Poe, Browning, Longfellow, etc., before I was eleven. I love poetry, especially the lilt of the rhyme.

Hi Debbie, my small bowel cancer metastasized to my digestive system's peritoneum. I've been on chemo while taking 2 holistic meds. At least my cancer is now stable. Great that you're in stage zero. Blessings to you.

Hi Debbie, I'm Elena and I live in Upper Saddle River, North Jersey. I'm sixteen and in my junior year of high school and in my high school we sponsor a Relay For Life event, I was wondering since you are a top contributor and committed to this site if you would like to come speak at my school about either your experience or cancer in general. Also if you know anybody near that would like to as well. Our main goal is to spread awareness to everyone and I would love if one of this websites top contributors would be apart of it! Of course only if you want, let me know and Greg has my email! Thank you!

Thank you for the positive and inspirational posts! It helps to start my day by reading "happy" things. Hope the weather gets better up North for you all. It's been a nasty winter here in the South too; I went a week with no electricity here recently; that was rough! Especially when there was a chemotherapy in the middle of it. The love, help and support of great family and friends got us through. It's 82 degrees today...ice one day, bikinis the next...welcome to the south! I'm fighting Stage IV metastatic stomach cancer one day at a time. 2.5 years since a diagnosis that looked like only 6 months; so everyday is a great gift!! Keep your smile and those happy posts. God bless, Patsy

Good day. I hope you are doing well today. I see that you live in Morris Plains, New Jersey. We are in Bensalem, Pennsylvania which is Lower Bucks County. I am so glad that you are a survivor. I am sorry but I am not familiar with ductal carcinoma. You are a magnificent individual. I saw a few of the uplifting things you posted and such and that your good will level is over 19,000. That is amazing. I would love to be able to reach that level one day. Our God Send, Joe, passed away from pancreatic cancer on 12/6/13. He was 74 but was never sick before diagnosis and we really thought he would have outlived me. My brother who is 69 has colon cancer. I believe he was diagnosed in 2011. We have started a group to help cancer patients - NO ONE SHOULD FACE CANCER ALONE - we are developing our group to help cancer patients emotionally, with information and eventually financially. You can reach me at LIGHTHOUSE80@COMCAST.NET if you would like. I am new to this group so I do not know if I get replies to my messages through here or some other way. I will be praying for you.

As strong as I've been for the world, I'm not feeling strong today as I fact chemo on Wednesday for the first time and the port insertion. Having family make flight reservations and accommodations for me is hard to swallow. They say I'm strong and can get through this. I will try to visit this site for encouragement and give back. Thank you for your goodwill.

I feel like I am in limbo as I have finished chemo, surgery and radiation, now what do I do? I have periods of crying and can't explain it. Is it the tamoxifen? I'm 68, so it certainly isn't the change!

There are lots of great people here with a lot of experience, so just post a question if you need to. Otherwise, we're grateful for your experience and hopeful that you can help others too.
