Hello Celine, Welcome to WhatNext...a great website to find someone who is on the same cancer journey as yourself. Or in my case someone who is a survivor. Yes...I am an 18year, stage IV, pancreatic cancer survivor. So you see this cancer too can be beat. Never give up hope...because there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is the candle of hope. So never, ever, give up hope. In my case they removed 40% of my pancreas, my whole spleen, a slice of my kidney, and 5 lymph nodes. They told me they were going to treat this aggressively...and boy did they ever. Keep in mind now this was 18 years ago, but they put a port in my chest, and for 24 hours a day I carried a pump along my waist-belt which had a chemo cartridge in it, and it was pumping chemo into my system 24 hours a day for 7 days a week, and for 5 weeks non-stop. They also gave me radiation for 5 days a week during the same 5 weeks. Then they told me they were going to do more chemo...I said "no way." They told me to go home and think it over and they would call me in a few days. Well when they called me I said "okay." I mean what was the alternative? This time it was only for one day in the hospital for 3 hours. This went on for 9 weeks. In any case Celine give it all you have, and never, ever give up hope. My best to you...Russ

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started with the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the database to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.
