Hi, Thanks for the response. I finished chemo end of Jan, I had 3 rad treatments left when I got a fever and went to ER. I had been telling my oncologist about sunburn, swelling etc and she just kept giving me creams to use. then they figured out I had a staph infection inside my breast. I am just wondering why this is so much more uncomfortable than the lumpectomy was, am so tender, sore, and lots more sensitive.

Thank you very much for your helpful feedback on my question about sleep. Books on CD are a good option, as long as the story doesn't keep you up, wanting to know what happens next!
I've done a bit of research on melatonin and its different forms. The sustained release seems to make sense, since it doesn't usually stay in our systems that long. Glad you have found a local source and that it still helps you.

Hi. What herbal supplements did your oncologist prescribe?

Hello Cal, will everyone getting chemo experience the chemo brain? Will it occur from the get go or later? Will all hair including eyelashes/eyebrows grow back?

    Hi Cal,
It was very hard at first by I'm 5 months into a STRICT protocol and am ok with it now. I eat my fruit and veggies but make Veg Juice to drink 4 times a day. Check out my protocol on my profile page. Check this article below and a site called Chris Beat Cancer AND his facebook page. He has great food ideas beside being very powerfully hopeful. A great book to read and it's a real eye opener is The China Study. Good Luck!!!!!!!

I just saw an answer of yours that referenced supplements recommended by your oncologist…that's awesome! Mine didn't want anything to do with anything out of the ordinary. (Did consent to melatonin, but nothing else.) Would you be willing to share what was recommended?

    Hi, CAL--

It sounds like we are on similar journeys and living in the same area. I finished chemo 8 weeks ago and and now halfway through radiation. After doing surgery and pathology through Christie, I met with Medical oncologists at both Christie and Carle and hit it off much better with the doctor at Carle, so did chemo and now doing radiation there.

Hi CAL - so glad you're here, but sorry for the reason why. You sound like a strong lady, I just know and believe you have the right mind-set to get through this. I recently wrote an article that might help a little : http://marnieclark.com/becoming-adept-at-your-healing-and-health/
    Sending you hugs from Denver.

Hi, Cal. I am sorry about your diagnosis and that you have had a struggle with your breast care/cancer professionals. Our cancer care center has two nurse advocates that helped ease my mind by explaining procedures and providing literature. They made themselves available to help schedule and address any concerns I brought to them. Do you have access to anyone like that? Also, the chemo nurses were fabulous; when I was concerned about lab and scan results taking so long, they started making some noise and we got the reports immediately. I know there is a lot coming at you, and, yes, you definitely need to speak up for yourself...and find an advocate or two along the way. I hope your situation improves soon...and that today will be a good one for you.
