I used to live in Merritt Island, FL! Born in Tampa.
For mouth sores I got "Magic Mouthwash" (seriously, that's on the label) It's a compound they make in the pharmacy of Maalox, Benadryl, lidocaine, an anti-fungal & one other ingredient I can't remember. Problem is--not covered by my insurance & it was $90. But it cleared everything up. I also kept lips moist w/ Vit E oil--punctured a capsule w/a pin. Just heard from a friend that Biotene mouthwash & toothpaste worked for her--ask the pharmacist.
