Hi jem. Looks like you're a candidate for it since you're ER positive. You should speak to your doctor first though as if you have negative nodes you may only need radiation and tamoxefin. Chemo may not even be recommended. If your Dr. does recommend chemo as a preventative measure ask him/her to order the Oncotype testing for you. You may want to confirm with your insurance also - test is $4K. Good luck to you.

I came across your question regarding drug therapy this morning...I have been on Arimidex for a little over 2 years...it felt like a second menopause when I started but got better after 6-8 months...I do experience joint pain especially in my wrists and fingers but I found some hand exercises on the Mayo Clinic web site which really do help...a colleague at work was part of the 10 year Arimidex study...she had similar problems but assured me that within 2 weeks of completing her TEN years all symptoms had resolved!!! This is what I believe: everyone will not get every side effect, there are remedies for most side effects, side effects mean the drug is working! I like to think of all those little estrogen-makers being killed off, strangled and homeless! Hope you are doing well...God bless!
