Thank you for your post on my wall. I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago - my first time with cancer -so this is all very new to me. I do not have the same thing you have. I have something called a neuroendocrine tumor, likely the result of radiation treatments I received for a birthmark growing over my eye when I was an infant. It is stage 4 but fortunately has not spread. They were initially going to do surgery, but it is very close to the carotid artery, so the plan now is to start with chemo, then radiation, and see how that goes. l have treatment planning sessions scheduled for next week at Jefferson. So far, I have been very impressed with the care I've received at Jeff. You said you go to Jeff. What doctors have you seen?

Hi Jdub, that's a tough position I have had to do that before, the CT scan at one time was 1,750.00 and turned out I didn't even need it to start with.

You can talk with the insurance company and get the Hospital and your doctor to contact the insurance company and explain the situation. Many times they will authorize the extra scans to prevent having something come up later that would cost them more.

The social worker at the Hospital is a good contact for these type things.

Good luck to you, I hope they work with you.
