Hi tnblondee - sorry for the delay in responding, busy weekend! While I would never tell a person NOT to take Tamoxifen if their doctor has recommended it, I will tell you what I did instead. I chose against Tamoxifen, but part of that was because my tumor wasn't ER+, for some reason it was only PR+. Because you are younger than I was (thus probably more estrogen and progesterone circulating), and you also have HER2+ to complicate things, you will need to tread very carefully. Make sure you do your homework. Are you on something to address your HER2+ status?
I didn't want the side effects of Tamoxifen, so I went in search of everything I could find for alternatives. I've written an article about what I have been taking:

http://marnieclark.com/category/aromatase-inhibitors/ Be sure to read the one about hormone balancing (The Dr John Lee article). I would highly recommend seeking the advice of a trained naturopath, one who is used to dealing with hormonal issues and/or breast cancer. I see you're close to Knoxville, there should be a good naturopath there. I hope this helps you.
