Are you still on Tarceva? My husband is starting his 3rd month of Tarceva and the tumors are shrinking. His side effects are skin rash and diarrhea, his appetite is poor.

    Nina,
I just noticed your remark to me on Emmetts post regarding survival percentages. I am so sorry that I did not see it earlier. I have been studying the genetics of these diseases for awhile and now working on CYP genes which can let you know how well a person reponds to certain classes of drugs. I think the answer lies in genetics and in targeted therapies. I just wanted you to know that I am here if you have any questions regarding your disease and its mutation. The more that you know about EGFR the more you will be able to rationalize the therapies suggested. Never stop believing in the science, and never doubt the strength that lies within you...you have miles to go my friend, miles to go. Carm RN.

haven't been in contact with you for a while, nina. just wondering how things are going for you. i'm having a terrible time with allergies right now. i look like i've been in a fight: swollen eyes, fat lip, bandaged ear. it sucks. my white counts keep tanking after my second week of chemo in the cycle, so i feel lousy anyway. the allergies are just icing, i suppose. plus my hair is falling out so i think i'm going to have it buzz cut. sigh... always something, always relentless. but other than that, mrs. lincoln, the play was just fine. hope you're doing better, my friend! take care, teri
