How did you and your oncologist decide to stay on Anastrozole for another 5 years? Are you still having lots of joint pain? I am supposed to discuss this possibility in the spring with my dr. as i approach the 5 year mark. Did they tell you the reccurance chances? My dr. said there would be more info available in the spring. I feel like the med ages my joints by about 15 years. I have seen stuff that says the additional 5 years benefit is minimal but other info saying the benefit is very real. I just wondered how your dr. presented it to you, thanks for sharing and God bless.0December 2017

Hi oceanblue24, I am a 12 yr+ pancreatic cancer survivor and I am still tired from all the chemo, and radiation that ended in May 2001.
I fatigue easily...but have started, (again!), to exercise. This time I will keep it up for sure, as I have in the past...yeah right!!! No I mean it this time! I will let you know how I am doing. Thus far I have been on 3 weeks at 5 days a week. I will keep you abreast at the end of every month. Since I have started exercising I can now finish a round of golf. Thus far this summer I have had to quit at the end of 13-15 holes. But the exercise has helped me a lot. I am also deficient in vitamin B12 whch I have not been taking lately...(don't know why), oh yes I do. I have been trying to not take so many pills a day, so I figured that I can eliminate some of the vitamins rather than the pills I take from doctor's prescription. I would guess that if you are one year out...you still have a ways to go.
