    Valerie,

Thanks for writing. I am actually a breast cancer survivor (11 years in April.) I got on this site because my favorite Aunt was just diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Her doctor has basically told her there was nothing else he could do for her. We aren't willing to give up that easy. Would you please facebook friend me so I can send you a private message with her contact information. She needs all the good news she can get. She is 70 but acts like shes 50. She had a masectomy but the doctor says there is no chemo that will help. Her cancer was ductal. Please contact me at Christy Kay Pittman Wallace on face book. She sure needs some encouragement. Can you send private messages on this site? What part of the country do you live in? She is in South Texas.

    Thanks for everything,

    Christy

Welcome to WhatNext-I am glad you found us, though not under these circumstances. I am part of the TriHealth Cancer Institute (Good Samaritan Hospital, Bethesda North Hospital and Butler County Hospital). Please let me know if I can do anything-connect you to resources in the greater Cincinnati area-I'd like to make your journey easier.

Hi, ValerieR. I saw your question re blurry vision and headaches after surgery. I can't address the issue but wanted to check in and see how you are doing. How did the CT scan go? Were they able to tell you anything? Thinking of you. Take care.

Hi ValerieR - welcome to the forum, so glad you joined us! Sounds like you've been through a very rough period over the last months but I'm happy you're still here with us! I'm an 8-yr BC survivor and I write a blog to help others through the BC journey. Just wrote an article that might interest you on blueberries and TNBC: http://marnieclark.com/interesting-city-of-hope-research-on-blueberries-and-triple-negative-breast-cancer/ Pretty cool that something as simple as blueberries could be so helpful! Hope you enjoy the article. Sending hugs from Denver.

Hello, Valerie. Sorry about the ol' Triple Negative curse. I, too, had it thrown at me; no family history of breast cancer at all and I was feeling great when a routine mammogram showed the tumor, 1.5 cm. I opted for bi-lateral mast. and chemo; did not have to have radiation as my lymph nodes were clear, thankfully. A year since it all started but hopefully, it's over now and I can enjoy life again. Looking forward to the holidays; last year's were ruined. Have much to be thankful for this year. I am starting to meet TNBC survivors more frequently on this site, which gives me encouragement and hope. Talked to a 13-year survivor a few weeks ago! Hope you are feeling better these days. My last chemo treatment was in April and I now have a full head of kinky white hair; nobody ever said much about my pre-cancer hair but I have had lots of compliments on this new do, which I think is funny. Also, my finger and toenails are looking better, although just last week I finally lost a big toenail after babying it for months. Oh well. Stay strong! There are better days ahead for you, too!
