Hi Healthy1: Congrats on the new job that we all hope you will jump into with gusto and both feet! You deserve a dream job after having the nightmare of cancer!

As you see, I agree with many of the others, but would add you might want to equip yourself with the latest changes in health care so that you know for sure what is and isn't allowed. This will give you peace of mind with your new insurance as well as empower you. As I've said zillions of times, "knowledge is power" (Sorry, but I'm a teacher, LOL!)

As to telling your new employer about your past cancer...hmmm. That's a toughie! You might want to work there a while and read the atmosphere before letting him/her know. I think in the long run, it will probably be inconsequential (We don't ALL have recurrences, thankfully!). If I were your boss and I found out many years later that this was your second cancer, I think I would've wanted to know that earlier, I guess just as a matter of trust and complete honesty...but that might just be me, too.

Good luck with your decision(s). We support you! Please keep us updated as you will find many, many people here who care about you!
