Hi Maeve, I saw your posting and wanted to wish you well. I also wanted to add that I was diagnosed in July and had Da Vinci robotic surgery in August. It went great and I am doing very well. I also had symptoms for a long time -- I had a biopsy and ultrasound almost 2 years ago that showed no cancer, but since I continued to have some bleeding my doctor did a biopsy this past July and found cancer (grade 1). My staging was 1A so I need no further treatment other than follow ups. It was an extremely stressful few weeks, and like Cheryl mentioned waiting was definitely the hardest part. I was back at work 2 1/2 weeks after surgery and now 7 weeks after surgery am doing everything I was doing before I was diagnosed. Sending good wishes your way!

Hope your kids will be supportive. We told our 11yo soon, but waited to tell our older daughter so she wouldn't have so much worrying time. Both very supportive. Daughter came and sat with me when DH had to take 11yo to karate. She gave me a pedicure as I couldn't reach down to my toes.

Good luck to you, Maeve.I saw my surgeon today & he expects to use the robot, but by golly, if you have questions for him, ask! I had a 3 page list of questions to ask him. I "only" have to wait 3 weeks, & it's easier once the process has begun.

You've come to a good place, Maeve. Lots of us in the same boat with you. Let us know how you are doing and ask questions. I was diagnosed in early July and did not have surgery until late August. I found the waiting was the worst part.
