Hi Jay,
I found I had bladder cancer in Jan.2013. I will start chemo on 3/28/13. I have some questions about your Indiana Pouch. Have you had any trouble with infection? Do you have to irrigate the stoma and pouch. I will have my bladder removed in six months and must make a decision at that time on what kind of bladder to have. Thank you for your help. I apperciate the help you have posted.

Hi Jay- I just read your "experiences" . I understand a lot of what you went thru but not all of it. I just went thru diagnoses and treatment this year and now I am working towards that magical 5 years mark. I am frustrated by the continuing side effects but happy to be alive and well. I am finding I lack energy like I used to, muscle pain and I cannot eat what I want.....especially almonds or any other type of nuts....ouch!!! I have a lot of other side effects and I am not sure how long they will all last. Everyone thinks that since I am back to work and looking a little more like myself that I am 100%. Well, I am not and at times it does get me depressed. But I am lucky and I know that. I am going thru one of those days when I need to vent so I am posting on your wall and a few others....people who know what I am going thru. Wishing you all the best. I found another link which talks about where food and which foods are digested where ... I'm sure this can, perhaps, be a jumping off point for further study and, perhaps, a more detailed look at resolutions for your challenge that we discussed. It seems that soluble fiber is digested in the large intestine while insoluble fiber in the small one.
